Shield
The five points of the crimson flaming star signify the five campaign awards for service in the European Theatre, World War II. The tongues of flame united at the center also refer to the unit's mission to provide ammunition support and stock control of ammunition depots and supply points. The gold star denotes the organization's administrative and supervisory operations. The lightning flashes terminating in the wavy area, symbolic of water, allude to the battalion's capability to provide for disposal of explosives. The wavy blue and gold bands also refer to the overseas service.
Crest
The dragon symbolizes service in Southeast Asia while the fleur-de-lis refers to campaigns in France and Normandy and the castle is for service in the Rhineland and Central Europe during World War II. The two machetes represent the Meritorious Unit Commendations awarded to the unit for service in the jungles of Vietnam.
